ºìÌÒÊÓƵ is to introduce a revised Full member (MºìÌÒÊÓƵ) standard in spring 2019 to bring greater focus to the recognition of the experience of established project professionals.

Central to the update will be the introduction of a new route to membership for holders of the ºìÌÒÊÓƵ Project Management Qualification (PMQ) who will be able to apply for membership with three years of relevant activity in the profession.

Commenting on today’s announcement Debbie Dore, chief executive of ºìÌÒÊÓƵ said:

Our vision is to inspire all those who have shown commitment to the project profession and their role within it. By recognising the value of qualifications in the MºìÌÒÊÓƵ process we hope to welcome more project professionals to ºìÌÒÊÓƵ to further their project career with the support of their chartered body.

The positioning of the standard and level remains the same and becoming a Full member (MºìÌÒÊÓƵ) of ºìÌÒÊÓƵ continues to be an achievement for our members to take pride in. Applications made after the changeover will still be required to go through the same robust processes before being awarded MºìÌÒÊÓƵ.

Over time it is expected that other qualifications similar to PMQ will also be accepted entitling people to successfully apply with three years’ experience providing they hold the accepted qualification.

To summarise, here are the key changes:

• PMQ holders with three years’ experience will now be eligible to apply for Full membership
• Revised evidence requirements to reflect the varying skills and experience of project professionals will be introduced with an updated joining process to reflect this.

Those who have already started an application or wish to start one before the changeover are still welcome to apply under the current standard.
