ºìÌÒÊÓƵ is delighted to announce its membership of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI). This will assist ºìÌÒÊÓƵ to represent the profession more effectively while reaching key decision makers and influencers in the UK government and business.

As the Chartered body for the project profession, ºìÌÒÊÓƵ works with government, the private sector and professional bodies for the public benefit to raise the profile, awareness and understanding of project management.

Membership of the CBI is an effective way to access senior policy makers and government ministers and to raise awareness of the project profession as a means of delivering effective change that improves our economy and society more widely.

Neil Carberry, CBI managing director of people, said: “The CBI is delighted to welcome the ºìÌÒÊÓƵ into membership. At a time when the UK firms are dealing with unique challenges and opportunities, developing and promoting good project management has never been more important. I’d like to congratulate the ºìÌÒÊÓƵ on being awarded Chartered status and we look forward to providing it with the very best influence, insight and access as it continues to grow.â€

Chief executive of the ºìÌÒÊÓƵ, Sara Drake, said “Project Management is about delivering transformation and change. We know the UK needs a huge number of experienced project managers with the right qualifications. We live in challenging times, particularly with Britain’s forthcoming exit from the European Union, and this makes the recognition of project management even more vital in the current economy. Joining the CBI is recognition of a step-change for ºìÌÒÊÓƵ having now received our Royal Charter and we are now in a strong position to provide a framework for industry and government for improving project performance.â€
